One big happy litter!

Owning a Midnight border collie puppy will provide you with years of enjoyment and is a very rewarding experience.  Your puppy will already be passed on to you having received lots of hugs and attention, now it's up to you to continue to love and train her!
Border collies are not your typical dog.  They learn at an extremely fast rate, and can take in just about anything you're willing to teach them.  Start out early showing your puppy just exactly where she is to sleep, eat and relieve herself.  Repeatedly put her in those same locations and in no time she'll understand the routine you're setting for her (consistency is the key).  We suggest you provide your puppy with a crate to sleep in for the first six months to one year.  It will quickly become her comfort place and she'll know it's time to rest when put inside of it.  After the first week or so you're puppy will not want to relieve herself where she sleeps (in her crate) and this makes housetraining much easier.  After letting her out of her crate immediately take her to the location you want her to relieve herself so she gets used to this routine.
Feed your puppy three times per day until she is 12 weeks old then reduce it to twice per day.  After 15 minutes put the food away until her next feeding.  Do not make food available all the time - this makes for long-term overweight dogs.  After she turns 1 year old you can reduce her feeding to once per day.
Obedience training can start the day you bring your border collie puppy home.  The simple "sit" and "down" commands can be taught right away, as well as "stay" and "come."  Familiarize your puppy with the leash and collar as soon as possible.  Take her for frequent walks and continually praise her as she learns to walk on the leash.
Above all, remember that border collies want nothing more than to please you!  Give your puppy lots of praise and reassurance and she'll be your long-time faithful companion!
